A magnitude do terremoto \u00e9 estimada entre 7,2 e 7,5, dependendo da fonte.<\/p>\n<p>O evento s\u00edsmico aconteceu aproximadamente \u00e0s 9h (22h de ter\u00e7a-feira em Bras\u00edlia). O epicentro foi localizado a cerca de 25 quil\u00f4metros ao sudeste de Hualien, a uma profundidade de 15,5 quil\u00f4metros, de acordo com a Administra\u00e7\u00e3o Central de Meteorologia (CWA) de pa\u00eds o colapso de pelo menos 26 pr\u00e9dios, a maioria deles na \u00e1rea de Hualien, a leste. As autoridades informaram que dois alem\u00e3es estariam presos em um t\u00fanel no Parque Nacional de Taroko, sem mais informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre suas condi\u00e7\u00f5es de sa\u00fade.<\/p>\n<p>O diretor do Centro Sismol\u00f3gico de Taipei, Wu Chien-fu, explicou tratar-se do \u201cterremoto mais forte dos \u00faltimos 25 anos\u201d que atingiu a ilha \u201cpr\u00f3ximo da terra e pouco profundo\u201d, sendo \u201csentido em todo o pa\u00eds e nas ilhas pr\u00f3ximas\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cO p\u00fablico deve prestar aten\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s advert\u00eancias e mensagens relevantes, e estar preparado para evacua\u00e7\u00e3o sismol\u00f3gica\u201d, aconselhou.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O terremoto de 1999 em Taiwan<\/h4>\n<p>No m\u00eas de setembro de 1999, Taiwan foi atingido por um terremoto de 7,6 na escala Richter, resultando em 2.400 v\u00edtimas. Devido \u00e0 sua localiza\u00e7\u00e3o pr\u00f3xima a duas placas tect\u00f4nicas, o pa\u00eds insular \u00e9 frequentemente afetado por atividades s\u00edsmicas. Foi emitido um alerta pelas autoridades sobre a possibilidade de mais tremores nos dias seguintes.<\/p>\n<p>As Filipinas tinham emitido alertas de \u201ctsunamis de grandes ondas\u201d e se preparavam para evacuar as regi\u00f5es costeiras, por\u00e9m o alerta foi posteriormente cancelado. A Ag\u00eancia Meteorol\u00f3gica do Jap\u00e3o (JMA) tamb\u00e9m revogou o aviso de tsunami para suas ilhas meridionais.<\/p>\n<p>O primeiro-ministro japon\u00eas, Fumio Kishida, declarou-se pronto a prestar toda assist\u00eancia necess\u00e1ria a Taiwan, seu \u201cvizinho atrav\u00e9s do oceano\u201d.
